Hi, I'm the Founder and Manager of BRMG Radio.
I have experienced hospital, community, Commercial and Local radio for over 30 years.
I have done every format of show including Breakfast, Afternoon, drivetime, night time and talk based shows.

Hiya, I'm Sophia & apart from bieng the Station Managers Wifey, I host the Sunday reflections show each week.
I work full time and have no intention of retiring yet!!
I love all kinds of music - from Classical & Celtic right through to Rock & Romantic ballads.
In my spare time, I love reading plus knitting & crotcheting.
I have been with BRMG Radio since the beginning and was previously on Redditch based Kingfisher FM for 3 years.
I love what I do and hope to continue for many years yet.
Myself, DJ Stretch, first appeared behind the decks as a mobile DJ in June 1980.
How did this happen?
Well, quite by chance to be honest. Having been asked my opinion about a local radio roadshow appearing in Wolverhampton, my response of “Rubbish” led to a challenge:
“If you think you can do any better, come and be the DJ at our social club” …
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Having appeared at venues across the UK, I had my first attempt at radio in 1992. Despite having never worked “professionally” in radio, I have produced material broadcast on Radio One!
These days, BRMG Radio offers the freedom for me to experiment with loads of daft features and jingles, whilst delivering some absolutely brilliant music … the stuff you haven’t heard in ages!
I have been broadcasting on the BBC since 1974, mostly on sport. So my music show Timeless Classics, Great Singers is a welcome departure for me.
I’ve always been a huge popular music fan, covering all styles, but my particular favourite is the songs written by great composer/ lyricists such as Cole Porter, delivered with such style by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald.
I also nod in the direction of terrific modern singers such as Michael Buble and Gregory Porter’.
My second half of the show, now features more modern romantic classics.
My archive show goes out between 6-8pm, on Sunday nights
I have lived in the Bromsgrove area for more than 40 years and am delighted to offer something to the local community.

GARY JACKSON BIOGRAPHY
Like many radio presenters, I started as a mobile DJ. In 1976!! From there I went on to hospital radio, and when the FM frequency beckoned I jumped at the chance to join Skyline Gold in Southampton.
It soon became apparent that other stations were sometimes short of presenters, and the norm in those days was to play automated music. In 2011 I offered a show to Forest FM – Sounds Of The 70s – which I still present there to date, and I soon realised that here was a gap that needed filling elsewhere.
Other stations followed including the legendary 1260KYA in San Francisco, Castledown Radio in Wiltshire, and the Bigl, today’s equivalent of 60s pirate station Radio London. (I have been broadcasting live on the BigL from my south coast studio six days a week since 2013).
Soon stations all over the world started airing the shows. Some have used the shows for a while then replaced them with live presenters when available, others have given them their own permanent slots.
Many people have asked who was my favourite interviewee, and the answer has to be Stu Cook of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Not only did Stu give me around twenty minutes, he was happy to talk about the days when things weren’t good, and after all, Creedence was my all time favourite band in the 70s.
For the 60s, it has to be The Searchers who are friends, and I have published their official website since 1997. As I have often said “On the rare occasions when things were hard going I went to see The Searchers. Their sheer hard work and professionalism put me to shame and gave me the kick up the backside I needed”.
My shows often feature guests, and interviews have included chats with Frank Allen of The Searchers – always a delight, Mike Rutherford (Genesis), Paul Carrack (Mike and The Mechanics, Squeeze), Justin Hayward, Alan Clark (Dire Straits), Tom McGuiness of Manfred Mann, Deborah Bonham, Simon Townsend, Stu Cook (Creedence) Dave Clark (Dave Clark Five) and just about every other 60s band still working!
Not only that but household names like Jenny Eclair and Toyah Willcox have also joined me!
My live radio work has taken me to California, and my shows now air from Tenerife to Tasmania!
Very much a fan of personality radio, I try to remember that the listener comes first, I try to give my shows a live feel and keep listeners interested with features like the “A side B side”, “same difference” and the “slipped disc” song.
One of my favourite write-ups came from Ace FM in Spain – sadly now long gone:
Gary started his DJ career back in the days when half a dozen singles from Saturday Night Fever were guaranteed to fill the dance floor. Hospital radio beckoned in the early 1990s and he now finds himself on a Spanish station, surprised that it’s the English speaking population that listens, having always thought the most suitable audience would be those who hadn’t a clue what he was on about.
He fell in love with beat music in the 60s, and in 1997 he was approached by The Searchers to publish their official website which he does to this day.

The Gary Jackson Show is packed with special features – not for the audience’s benefit, but because at his age just staying awake for two hours is tough enough, and every little helps!

Now where did my passion for collecting music come from.......like many people of a certain age it was in my teens..... many moons ago myself & a couple of mates used to spend our Saturdays in the local record shop, ours was Harry's Music Box in Bromsgrove..... we would puruse the vinyl racks & pick a few that looked interesting, Harry would play them & we would make our choice.....from those times it turned me into an avid vinyl collected & later, CDs
I am also a musician, a drummer, (some will dispute drummers are musicians but we all know who the girls love) spent my time in the 70s & 80s playing in pub & club bands, I still play today in a theatrical percussion group called "Glamba" playing festivals, theatres & TV .....
I actively teach Samba, African & Junk Drumming in schools, at festivals & other events all over the country.
From the early 80s I have took an avid interest in what's termed "World Music" which got me interested in music from all around the globe.
On my show I will delve into my collection to play you Samba, Latin & Bossa Nova from South America, Soca & Reggae from the Caribbean, grooves from Africa, Asia, Europe, The Middle East, Southern States of America Celtic sounds from our own islands, in fact from just about everywhere.
Every week there will be a fair amount of music from contemporary artist that have been heavily influenced by global grooves like Peter Gabriel & Paul Simon, also exponents of their own cultures like Santana, Los Lobos, The Band & special remixes & recordings by well know artists who support global charities like Project Earth & Playing For Change .... think Viva La Vida by Coldplay with an African groove & a Bossa Nova version of Love Is The Drug by Roxy Music ......every week I will also feature a homegrown band that you may not know but are well known on the World Music scene who gig regularly that you might fancy seeing.
Please give the show a listen I think you will be surprised the amount of quality music there is out there .
Oh & by the way you might want to keep your dancing shoes handy ...... you never know!

Hello dear listener, I’m Wayne Fowler, and I present the indie show here on BRMG.
I’m a middle aged grumpy man, who can usually be found in my natural habitat listening to music or playing guitar - badly!
Having been a huge fan of Mark & Lard on Radio 1, I first dabbled in hospital radio myself back in the late 90’s, and then with community stations some years later.
After a long time in the wilderness, I reconnected with our station manager PJH back in June 2021 and the rest as they say is history!
The indie show is a mixture of the biggest and best hits from all of the indie artists you know and love, as well as obscure tracks and brand new songs from up and coming bands that you may have heard of, or may be being introduced for the first time.
I also want to bring the latest local talent to the masses, so if you’re an indie artist who needs to show the world just how great you are, why not get in touch and use me as your springboard - boing!
Hiya, Bob here...i've been on the folk scene since before many of the songs currently considered traditional were first written!
Been involved in organising folk clubs and festivals for over 50 years and been singing at them for longer than that!
That said this is my first venture into radio presentation and/or being a DJ…..at an age when I should be old enough to know better!
Not governed by any genre specifics…..if I consider that it has a place on the folk scene, then it most certainly has! (and I am more than happy to discuss that premise and “what is folk music anyway?” with anybody who is prepared to listen)
Looking forward to expanding Bob’s Folk Focus over the coming weeks and months and, god permitting, years…..look forward to interviews, what’s on features, record of the week, featured artists, new to the scene, and any features that you might consider listen-worthy....contacxt me and let me know your thoughts
That said, Bob’s Folk Focus will always be about the music rather than the chat.
After all “where words fail, music speaks”

My Story So Far
I had two chart hits in UK/Europe with
"Somebody Somewhere" and
"I Don't Want Your Love" (WauMrModo/Perfecto/RCA labels).
I have won the SKY TV talent programme "Sky Star Search" which was televised all over the world.
Other of my achievements include supporting some of the best acts in the World:
I have sang in the USA on the Gino Vannelli album "Inconsolable Man" where I was featured on three
tracks including "Moment To Moment" which was a worldwide hit.
RADIO
As well as being a recording artist I also have a worldwide popular radio show.
I was building a growing worldwide listener base on fylde coast radio every Tuesday and Friday Morning.
Since 2018 I am on various radio stations in the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, Sri Lanka, Trinidad & Tobago, France, Greece, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, The Philippines and Canada with
I play specialized Funk and Modern Soul
How it all started
Well........music has been in my blood for as long as I can remember actually.
I started singing and learned to play the electric organ when I was 7 and never let it go after that
Music has become a main part of me since then.
I first performed professionally at the age of 12 and decided to pursue a career in music when I turned 15.
I took part in many talent shows and audition events with nothing than willpower on my part.
Until one night I got noticed by a talent agent
But I was the kind of approaching person.
I DID want to sing with Gino Vannelli, so I contacted him, explained who I was and what I stood for in music.
And Gino invited me to Los Angeles to sing a duet with him for his album 'Inconsolable Man', a single called Moment To Moment
I also approached superstars like Jimmy James, The Drifters, Edwin Starr and George MacRae.
Not only did I sing with those wonderful performers, I also had 2 chart hits.
No full album yet, but I am working on that.
My idol in music is Anita Baker but I am personally influenced by any soul based performer that touches my heart. Anyone that has longevity:
I love to sing soul or funk but I can sing most kinds of music really.
My musical acievements so far:
Do I still have time for hobbies ?
Well yes, I like to drive my car, I like to read and write music for fun.
And I am always looking out for good music to play on my radio show.
